The Hull Vice Presidents Association was formed in 1977 when FC played at the famous Boulevard. During the time at the Boulevard, the club underwent some financial difficulties and a group of avid supporters and businessmen joined together and founded the Hull FC Vice Presidents Association.
They held many fundraising events to support Hull FC. All funds raised helped pay the utility bills, and paid for Steve (Knocker) Norton to join the club. The Association also paid for Richard Swain’s flight over to England to play for the club and many other similar gestures.
When Richard Horne first put on his FC shirt, the Association sponsored him and continued to do so until he retired from the game. Richard was a true ambassador for the VP’s and the club.
Over the years, the Vice Presidents have helped with the FC Foundation, purchased gym equipment, given funds to revamp the video room, and donated a sum of money to Richard Munson to help fund the Education in the Community program. We have just purchased substitute jackets which will have VPs advertised on the reverse. This will allow the first team jackets go to the under-19s. We have been Match Day sponsors and Match Ball sponsors; the list goes on and on.
The Vice Presidents have held many luncheons, race nights and have supported the testimonials of Richard Horne, Kirk Yeaman, Richard Whiting and Gareth Ellis.
We are supporters who wish to see Hull FC succeed and would like more Hull FC fans to become members and join us in this endeavour.
We meet every two months where we discuss forthcoming events and enjoy a social evening. We are joined by either our Chairman Adam Pearson, our coach and or 1st team players who partake in some open discussions on rugby league over a meal.
Members pay a yearly subscription, in January, they pay for their meal on the evening of the bi-monthly meeting and of course, any events they attend.
